TDI provides opportunities for college students and recent graduates to serve as volunteers and interns on its humpback whale projects. The field research season takes place from mid-December through the end of May off the Big Island of Hawaii. Volunteers and interns are involved in data collection from our research boats as well as data processing and analysis. Throughout the entire year, TDI also offers volunteer and internship opportunities involving fluke matching and humpback whale data processing.
